Moving home

Not my physical space, but my cyber one. This blog in fact. From now on, I'll be blogging at:

http://blogs.news.com.au/couriermail/food/

Yippee, this means I can actually blog at work, ratified by those who pay my salary. Not a bad gig hey? Anyway, I hope you'll join me for what I hope will be an animated, lively and hopefully interesting blog about everything you put in a saucepan, on your credit card, or in your mouth.

as for the foi gras question , i believe the animals are treated in the poorest possible way .and i dont blame the woman who wrote a letter to the chef and 60 mins and ch 9 .this husbandry practisises are so bad i believe it will soon become out lawed even in france in the next 2 years . force feeding an animal on corn till its liver becomes desaeased cannot be healtly for the animal or us,in some cases geese are locked in boxes with only there head sticking out they dont move their entire life . they also cut open the ducks breast while the bird is alive to allow the liver to become larger when the bird has no more room left in its internal cavity ., i am a well known chef who has used plenty of foi gras in my time ,i have also eaten it in france . i will never again support this industry no matter how good it tastes . also what we get in australia is partialy cooked often second grade and often is not the real thing goose ,but duck treated the same horible way let the birds live a peacefull life as nature intended not in a torture chamber to satisfy the food cravings of a snobby frenchman ,american or even a fat australian buissinessman trying to impress his friends
